50th Anniversary Celebration – Bedford Historical Society – Participants:Bedford Historical Society
1874 Town Hall Museum - 1874 general Americana Museum with emphasis on Bedford and Bedford Township.
1832 Hezekiah Dunham House - restored early settlers home. 1882 W&LE Railroad Depot - 1920's passenger station and railroad memorabilia. 1893 Old Baptist Church-restored late Gothic Victorian church with a 1914 Moeller organ. Located on Historic Bedford Public Square. Maple Heights Historical Society
1800s Bedford Township School containing memorabilia from Maple Heights located
at the corner of Dunham and Rockside Roads. The building served as a rural school
when Maple Heights was part of old Bedford Township. It continues to educate
visitors about life in Maple Heights throughout the years.
Walton Hills Heritage Center
Walton Hills Municipal Building contains archival materials pertinent to the
Village of Walton Hills. Bob and Jean Kainsinger, long time residents of Walton
Hills, have spent tireless hours collecting data about the tiny village in the
southwest portion of old Bedford Township.

Site of the first exhibits of the Bedford Historical Society. Dick Squire, owner
of the Lincoln Press displayed artifacts of early Bedford in the shop window.
A small display will be in the window. The one story commercial block building
has been in continuous use since the 1920s. Therese Chapman, current owner,
welcomes visitors to the original site of Historical Society exhibits.
451 Broadway, corner of Broadway and E. Glendale Ave. Central School
The second exhibit area used by the Society. The school is celebrating its
100th birthday this year. It has been in continual use as a school
since 1905. The visitor will be able to view the architectural design incorporating
the newer addition with the 1905 building and see the classroom where museum
exhibits were displayed.
799 Washington St. Near the intersection of Franklin and Washington. Taylor Chair Company
In operation since 1813, Taylor Chair Company contains a private museum containing
company documents and significant examples of Taylor chairs manufactured for
almost 200 years.
75 Taylor St. Corner of Taylor and Willis Streets. Hours for the event will be 2-5 pm with the following exception: A flyer and maps will be available nearer the date of the event. It will contain directions and times. The Historical Society website, bedfordohiohistory.org, will also have information about the event. Refreshments will be available to visitors in the Community Room of the Old Church on the Square, 750 Broadway. Refreshments are available from 2:00 - 5:00pm in the Community Room, the old Church on the Square. Home baked treats and a sampling of coffees and teas will be available at no cost.
